Lets Make A Deal

Yesterday Tyler and I went with some friends of ours here in California to play on the game show Let's Make A Deal.

As you know, you have to dress up in costume to be on the show. On Friday Heather and I went to Walmart and Michael's in search of great costume ideas.

After spending a few hours at the store and even more hours designing and making costumes, we were ready to make our TV game show debuts.

Our tickets said that taping begins at 10 am, so we made sure we were up good and early to be in Hollywood early enough to get good places in line. We were numbers 8, 9, 10 & 11.  After standing in line for about and hour we filled out paperwork, got our name tags and headed inside.

We went through a little interview with the audience producers and we were on our way. We were sure we were headed for the studio....but we weren't. We had to sit in a crowded breezeway for 2 hours before we went into the studio.

We were sat on the very FRONT row!!!! How exciting is that! Again, it was so surprising to see how small the set is. (see Jimmy Kimmel post) If you have ever watched Let's Make A Deal it seems like there is a great view of the curtains and big boxes, but there are cameras and crews and people all on the way. Sometimes it was hard to see what the prizes were.

I was so excited to see Wayne Brady. I have loved him forever!! He cracks me up on Whose Line is it Anyway. We didn't get to see him very much. Just during the taping. During breaks, when they would change prizes and re-shoot scenes, he would disappear. They said he was behind the scene watching us on camera. During the breaks we had to stand up and dance around. Wayne will pick the people that are dancing, singing and acting a fool. (they told us all this before we began taping). It took about 2 1/2 hours to film a 30 min show. So needless to say...we were exhausted when we left. To be honest, about half way through Tyler & I were ready to be done.

So I am sure you are all wondering if we won or got to play. All I will say is someone in our group won $500 in the Quickie Cash round at the end of the show!! You will just have to wait for the show to air. The air date is scheduled for January 26, 2012. We also learned that even though they hand you the cash, you don't get to keep it. You don't get your prizes until after the show airs. =(

So you are probably wondering what put costumes were.....

Tyler was a pan of cookies & I was a trash bag of leaves.

Matt & Heather were Tetris pieces. These were so cute!! They were able to turn and move onto different positions. They also made them so they matched up while they were sitting!

It was a fun experience, but I am not sure if I would want to do it again. It was hard work to be on the show. I came home and went to bed!!
